The Indian Army will conduct the sixth edition of the biennial training exercise with the French Army from November 15, 2021 in a series of joint training exercises with friendly nations.
India has conducted a joint naval exercise and an air force exercise with France in 2021.
Shakti 2021 will be held in Fréjus, France from 15 November to 26 November.
The Importance of Exercise
The Shakti 2021 exercise will focus on counter-terrorism operations in the light of the semi-urban area under a UN mandate. It will be organized with the objective of enhancing military cooperation and inter-efficiency between the armies of the two countries.
The final version of the power study
The last edition of the exercise Shakti was conducted in the year 2019 at the Foreign Training Node at Mahajan Field Firing Range in Rajasthan.
Gorkha Rifles detachment
The detachment of Gorkha Rifles represents the Indian Army in this exercise. He has a rich legacy marked by his military prowess and supreme sacrifice. It has a glorious history of 68 years. The team's contribution to the 1971 war was recognized by the Jammu and Kashmir Theater Honor and the Battle Honor Shingo River Valley.
French Legion
The 21st Marine Infantry Regiment from France will take part in the exercise. The French Army was formed in 1831 as the 2nd Marine Regiment. It was later renamed the 21st Marine Infantry Regiment in 1901. It has a glorious history of 120 years. This team has participated in all the major battles of the French Army.
